Ballet Programs
Classical Ballet lThis course focuses on the elements of ballet essential to the beginning level dancer. Students study form, technique, barre and centre work. Proper vocabulary and class etiquette are introduced. Classical Ballet llBuilds on the principles learned in Classical Ballet l, adding emphasis on centre work including grand allegro, petit allegro, and adagio. More complex combinations of movements are incorporated into class choreography. Classical Ballet lll/IVDesigned for the advanced dancer. In this class, more complex turn and leap sequences are developed. Students are encouraged to strengthen their performing skills and technical capabilities through more extensive coursework. Pre-Professional and Professional Ballet ClassesNew students must audition for placement in these classes. Auditions can be scheduled with the Director by contacting the studio receptionist. Pointe and Pre-Pointe ClassesStudents must attend a minimum of two classes per week to develop strength and alignment principles essential to dancing on pointe. The Pre-Pointe program is a slow and thorough development of dance technique where students work on pointe at the barre and execute two-footed centre work and develop balance and placement on pointe.
Attire: Same as Ballet ll, but before ribbons and elastics are sewn on, all pointe shoes must have fit approved by instructor. Schedule: Full Schedule is available here.
